Mango Melee draws crowds despite sweltering heat

ST. CROIX — It was a three-peat for Arianna Saga and the first for Sy’Koi Gilbert, who won the mango eating contest in the Children 12 and under and Adult categories at Sunday’s Mango Melee.

Prior to winners being announced, the sun beat down without mercy, but that didn’t stop locals and visitors alike from flocking to the St. George Village Botanical Garden for the beloved celebration of mango season.
